Charitable Gaming Centres – A look at how the money helps so many.
Since its formation in 1975, OLG has been committed to empowering communities across the province. One of our proudest achievements has been partnering with the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association to support Charitable Gaming Centres and all the local charities who receive their proceeds. That’s over 2,400 in all.
Big numbers that make a big difference.
Since 2005, Charitable Gaming Centres have contributed more than $500 Million to their communities. These contributions are generated by the activities of all Charitable Gaming Centres across Ontario.
When you play, local charities win.
Whether you enjoy classic paper Bingo, easy to play Break Open Tickets, or the fun of TAP ‘N PLAY cabinets, your play sessions generate much-appreciated support for all kinds of worthy local initiatives. So when you hear us say “we play together, we win together,” we really mean it!
Real benefits for great causes.
Charitable Gaming initiatives have supported many different types of causes including:
- Health & Social Services – from Hospitals to Mental Health Programs
- Community Support – like Foodbanks and Service Clubs
- Senior Services – from Meal Services to Home Care Support
- Arts & Culture – funding for Theatre, Music, Visual Arts, and Cultural Heritage
- Youth Sports – programs for Children Under 18
- Education – including After School Programs and Daycare
- Religious Groups – Support for Places of Worship and Religious Activities
For charities across Ontario, regardless of size or location, that means we make a real difference through our play—providing a source of funding for charities large and small that otherwise wouldn’t exist.

Charitable Gaming Centres and the myriad charities they support operate on the belief that a community is like a team. In order for all to flourish, everyone must be willing to care, to dream, to play and to celebrate together.
