MARKETS

In sports betting, a market is a term for the type of outcome you’re going to bet on. The three main markets for PROLINE In-Store are: Moneyline, Point Spread and Over/Under. You can bet on these markets in new, more convenient ways, combining them into one bet for a simpler in-store transaction. Here’s how the markets work:

A balancing scale is shown with an “O” outweighing the “U”.

OVER/UNDER (TOTALS)

An Over/Under is a bet on whether the total score of a game will be over or under a certain number. You’ll sometimes see them called “Total” Bets. For PROLINE In-Store, you might see Over/Under bets for specific actions in a game instead of for the total score. Bets on specific game actions are known as Proposition or “Prop” Bets. For example, betting on whether a football running back will deliver over or under a total amount of rushing yards, is an Over/Under Prop Bet.

OVER/UNDER ODDS & PAYOUTS

PROLINE odds are set using algorithms that are based on a range of factors including industry odds and overall betting action, and they’re monitored by a team of sports analysts. You bet with, or against those odds. The decimal odds you see in an Over/Under matchup are based on the expected likelihood of each outcome happening.

An event list table shows examples of different Markets odds and payouts where Team 1 is Toronto and Team 2 is Utah. The highlighted example on the far right side is for Over/Under, where the assigned total score is 213.5. Team 1 on the left has the odds of 1.75. Team 2 on the right has the odds of 2.05.

If an event’s combined total score goes over the assigned Over//Under score (213.5), a $10 bet on “Over” returns $17.50 (including the original bet). If it stays under the assigned score (213.5), a $10 bet on “Under” returns $20.50 (including the original bet).
